Last First
Nathan has lost his first tooth, bringing our family to close another chapter of a last first in the tooth category. I was beginning to wonder if this child was ever going to lose any teeth since he is almost 8. He didn't even know it was loose. All the other kids excitedly announced the slightest bit of movement in their first tooth. I was sitting next to Nate at a Mexican restaurant after church on Sunday and happened to notice this tooth was laying forward. When we got home, it took one little tug for it to come out. Sorry, no crazy stories of strings, doorknobs, or pliers for this one.
My newly dubbed "snaggletooth" is sick today and quite pitiful. He came downstairs last night shivering. We headed in the kitchen to get some Tylenol when "it" happened--all over the kitchen floor, thankfully. Nothing worse than "it" in the bed and having to wash all that smelly stuff. My knight in shining armor cleaned it up out of the floor while I redispensed the tylenol (as the first dose was on the kitchen floor) and washed off his feet. We haven't had any repeat incidents, but Nate says he's cold and his brain hurts. I love the way kids describe things when they don't know the real word for it.

Chad lost his first tooth while at Windermere (Missouri's Baptist Camp)late summer before he began 3rd grade!! He has a December birthday so he was between 8 1/2 and 9...of course he didn't get his first tooth until he was 13 months old! This is all funny because at 15 (and a freshman in high shool now) he is STILL losing baby teeth. He had one in his pocket last night at dinner that he had lost during the day. There's four more to go, but the orthodontist said he needs to go ahead and get one pulled.
Amy, that is cracking me up! All my kids started late too--I think I vaguely remember some comparisons of teeth in the Parkway nursery--,but they made up for lost time. Katie has so many teeth missing right now, she can barely eat. She can't get braces yet because there's nothing to attach the brackets to!
